Start Your Engines

Saturday the 23rd of April saw the day of the big car rally. All the contestants met at the church where we received instructions and the rules. When the whistle blew the sound of a dozen engines firing up quickly drowned out all other noise. Holdens, nissans, mitsubishi's and toyota's flew off in every direction. The squealing of tires echoed through the area. Drivers fought through traffic as their partners quickly tried to decipher the various riddles. As one big covoy we all headed into the city and spread out, people going for the clues they worked out.
Some clues were easy to work out, while some stumped even the greatest of minds. Misinterpretation of clues lead to some very wrong answers. Some found themselves taking photos of the freeway tunnel while they should be taking a photo of the fountain outside parliament house. And some were getting shots of blue license plates, when in fact the answer was a VW.
At the end of the time, people slumped into King's Park, exhausted from the perpetual running needed to go from one side of the CBD to the other. The results were tallied and the winners were drawn. Needless to say, Fiona and I didn't win, so the results don't need to be conveyed to you. Also I seem to have forgotten who won.
Below this delightful piece of posting, one can find the various photos taken on my trek through the city. Some will be correct, many will be wrong, but rest assure that we had fun.
After the tiring expedition, Fiona and I made our way back to her house where we had dinner and watched the hilarious antics of Ben Stiller and Vince Vaughn in Dodgeball.
The eventually wound itself down to an end, and i left to seek the warm comfort of my bed.

I'll be posting pics from the auto show after this so stay tuned.
