The Drums Signal Their Arrival

*thump*
*thump*
*thump*

The sounds of drums have been getting exceedingly louder as time approaches 9th of June.
The sounds of drums signal the arrival of something of gigantic proportions.
The sounds of drums can mean either misery or glory.
The sounds of drums brings fear to many.
The sounds of drums are close.

The silence means they're here........

A constant battle is being waged across the campus. Many rise up and stand above all, but many others crumble. What seemed like a minor skirmish turned into a battle of life and death. The concrete is stained with the sweat and tears of those who struggle. The ones used to the onslaught see the arrival of a new day with little relief.

Its a gruesome business we're in. But at the end of our struggles we will find VICTORY! They may try and break our minds, but they will never break our spirit. We will continue to fight on, pressing ever forward. Never surrendering. If we surrender we are letting them win. But we will show we're stronger, we will show we're smarter. And we will show them that there is nothing that they can throw at us that we can't defeat!

Onwards, the desperate struggle continues. Many will fall. But united we can WIN!!

Sermon Online

As Frequency is starting to expand I'm going to be taking on a much larger role. This means that i will be preaching more often. So i've decided to make my sermon points available online. This means you can read back over them if there's something you forgot or if you couldn't make it that night.

I would also appriciate any tips and advice that people can give me to make my sermons better. I'm only new at this so i could use any help i can get.

Here is my latest sermon. Wisedom of God

  • Explanation of how I came across this sermon. Eating at KFC, wind kept blowing the page over. I read page, felt like God was speaking these words directly to me. I prayed about it, opened my eyes and a gap of sunlight shone on page.
  • I study a lot at uni. I’m constantly learning new things. Right now learning about gear trains, SCADA control, and C++ to C conversion.
  • The wisdom of God isn’t limited to those who study academically. Open to everyone.
  • Briefly talk about the greatest source of wisdom available to study. The Bible.
  • I’m reading proverbs as it’s full of wisdom and inspirational quotes.
  • Christians need to learn the wisdom of God. Its one thing to believe in God, it’s another thing to understand and follow him.
  • God gives wisdom to guide us away from falling into sin.
  • We must do more then avoid falling though. We need to be a warning sign away from danger to others.

    - Hand out printouts of Proverbs 4-

  • Wisdom of God is the greatest thing to learn
  • We must treasure is as it brings us closer to God.
  • He is the father and wants us to live right and follow his teachings. Just like any other father wants their child to learn from them.
  • I’m smarter then Ryan, have a higher IQ then anyone else in room.
  • But Ryan has a wisdom that I’m only just beginning to learn. Just like his mum has a wisdom greater then his, and her father has is greater then her.
  • This comes with putting God first, and learning his ways. By reading the bible.
Adam & Eve tried to take wisdom and look where it got them. The only wisdom is from God.

“Stop fooling yourselves. If you think you are wise by this world's standards, you will have to become a fool so you can become wise by God's standards. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God. As the Scriptures say, "God catches those who think they are wise in their own cleverness." (1 Corinthians 3: 18-19)

“But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and good deeds. It shows no partiality and is always sincere” (James 3: 17)
  • When can the wisdom of God ever go wrong?
  • How can being nice to others, never cheating, stealing or lying ever be a bad thing to do?
  • Learn the wisdom of God and experience the love and rewards that go with it.

  • Pray that others can find the wisdom of God

Jokes

Joke 1
Little Tim was in the garden filling in a hole when his neighbor peered over the fence. Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, "What are you up to there, Tim?"

"My goldfish died," replied Tim tearfully, without looking up, "and I've just buried him." The neighbor was concerned, "That's an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn't it?"

Tim patted down the last heap of earth then replied, "That's because he's inside your stupid cat."

Joke 2
One night, a police officer was stalking out a particularly rowdy bar for possible violations of the driving under the influence laws. At closing time, he saw a fellow stumble out of the bar, trip on the curb, and try his keys on five different cars before he found his.

Then, sat in the front seat fumbling around with his keys for several minutes. Everyone left the bar and drove off. Finally, he started his engine and began to pull away.

The police officer was waiting for him. He stopped the driver, read him his rights and administered the Breathalyzer test. The results showed a reading of 0.0. The puzzled officer demanded to know how that could be. The driver replied, "Tonight, I'm the Designated Decoy."

Joke 3

One day at a busy airport, the passengers on a commercial airliner are seated, waiting for the cockpit crew to show up so they can get under way. The pilot and co-pilot finally appear in the rear of the plane, and begin walking up to the cockpit through the center aisle. Both appear to be blind.

The pilot is using a white cane, bumping into passengers right and left as he stumbles down the aisle, and the co-pilot is using a guide dog. Both have their eyes covered with huge sunglasses. At first the passengers don't react, thinking that it must be some sort of practical joke. However, after a few minutes the engines start revving and the airplane starts moving.

The passengers look at each other with some uneasiness, whispering among themselves and looking desperately to the stewardesses for reassurance. Then the airplane starts accelerating rapidly down the runway and people begin panicking. Some passengers are praying, and as the plane gets closer and closer to the end of the runway, the voices are becoming more and more hysterical. Finally, when the airplane has less than 20 feet of runway left, there is a sudden change in the pitch of the shouts as everyone screams at once, and at the very last moment the airplane lifts off and is airborne.

Up in the cockpit, the co-pilot breathes a sigh of relief and turns to the pilot: "You know, one of these days the passengers aren't going to scream, and we're gonna get killed!"

Its Called Maturity, duh!

As many of us have often done, I was looking back at some of the earliest posts made by myself and some friends. Reading their first post written and comparing it to the latest one, you can see a huge change. The way they write, the subjects they write about and often the language they use has changed so much.

Alyce and I both used to write using different colours, but now there isn't a colour to be seen. Diana had made her first post 3 months into having a blog and now she posts more about her thoughts, feelings and friends. Travis used to post random pics with an occasional post about some computer jargon, now he has a whole section dedicated to His Walk. This is just a clear sign of how we're changing, how we're maturing.
I guess that's what I'm getting at with this post. Maturity.

I know that 2 years ago I wasn't the person I am now. When I first started going to Frequency I had to make sure I behaved myself and didn't do anything to offend them, but now I can just be myself. Because who I am now has changed, I've become a better person. I could tribute this all to getting older, but I know people older then me who are bad people. So I'm going to place this all on one person, Jesus. If I hadn't met my Lord and saviour then who knows what I could be doing now.

In regards to my friends, the maturity that they now show also came from God. They were Christians when I meet them, but I can say with absolute certainty that they have moved forwards in God. They have earned the honour of being called a Christian, and in 10yrs time I can look back on my blog (if its still here) and think "Wow, I thought they had progressed then, they have really progressed now"

And so I thank my friends for taking this walk with me the past year and a half I've been a Christian. I pray that we will still be together to open our own church together, because we have more then enough God-given talent to do. We just need to wait till we reach the right maturity.

God bless you all, and everyone who reads this.

Can You See The Problem Here?

Movie News

Unless you hang out in Ryan's room on sundays or late saturday night then you wouldn't know about the exciting new idea for frequency.
We are going to make a movie. This was inspired from a little conversation between Alyce and Justin and has slowly developed into a practical idea.
The movie is called "Travis Brown, the movie". Yes, it features the weekend experiences of Travis while he is with frequency. While this may seem boring, Travis is in fact, an interesting person. More specifically though, interesting things happen while he is in the room.
A rough draft of the script has been penned and currently is being typed out with added content. Once this process is completed, casting will begin along. The movie is expected to begin production in late July with a special screening at the end of the year.
Stay tuned for further information regarding the movie. If your interested in helping out with the movie please email me or leave a comment. My email can be found on the bottom of the side bar.
