Where does that wire go???

Not many of you would know this, but for one of my units at uni, we are required to design and build a remote controlled car. Below you can see some pics of is. We get assessed for the project by having a competition.
Four robots go head-to-head in an arena to collect the most amounts of boxes as possible from the centre. Every box is worth 2% each, and there is a max of 15 boxes allowed by any robot. There is a catch though, there's only 40 boxes in the middle, and do i need to remind you that there is 4 robots.
I only managed to get 6 boxes, but i think there will be some scaling involved, as I got the sixth highest mark out of 17 robots.
